with Peter Susemihl, and Eva Hirsch Pontes, MCC, ACTC, ESIA, EIA
In this session, Eva Hirsch Pontes and Peter Susemihl explore how team coaches can recognize the limits of their role when conflict escalates—within a team or between teams. Using Friedrich Glasl’s conflict escalation model as a guide, participants will be invited to reflect on how to assess the intensity of conflict and consider when it might be wise for a team coach to partner with a mediator to ensure ethical and effective interventions.

Eva Hirsch Pontes is an executive and team coach, supervisor, trainer, and conflict mediator. After three decades as an executive in the corporate world, she shifted her focus to human development, where she has worked for the past 20 years. Eva holds the MCC and ACTC credentials from the ICF, and the ESIA accreditation from the EMCC. Co-editor of Ethical Case Studies for Coach Development and Practice (Routledge, 2024), she integrates a systemic perspective with a deep relational presence. She lives between Brazil and Germany, working internationally in English and Portuguese.
