Our Story
In 2020, the International Coaching Federation gathered a small group of Subject Matter Experts on Team Coaching to develop a competency model for Team Coaching, among which were Jonathan Reitz (USA), Katerina Kanelidou (Greece), and Karl Van Hoey (Belgium). It was during these workshops that TCGA’s story began.
Shortly after the ICF published the Team Coaching Competency Model in November 2020, Jonathan, Katerina, and Karl, launched the Team Coaching Global Alliance through their shared passion for team coaching and commitment to team coaching advancement. .
The first team coaching training program, the Team Coaching Global Certificate, launched in January 2021. Participants came from 8 different countries. To date, coaches from 39 countries on 6 continents have attended our programs, making TCGA a truly global experience. Since that first certificate cohort, the Team Coaching Global Alliance has served the team coaching community by:
Earning the Advanced Accreditation in Team Coaching, an internationally recognized standard of quality that makes the credential process easier for TCGA graduates.
Growing to a team of 7 subject matter expert trainers, mentors, and coaching supervisors.
Establishing a Global Pricing Policy designed to make team coaching and coach training more accessible worldwide.
Sponsoring and supporting ICF chapter events, community of practice presentations, and other educational events on team coaching.
